In 1989, an indie rock band was formed in New York City named Silver Jews. With the lead vocal and guitarist David Berman and members such as Stephen Malkmus and Bob Nastanovich, Silver Jews was one of the best-acknowledged indie rock bands until the disbandment in 2009.
Silver Jews also belongs to Drag City’s former band list. For your information, Drag City is a record label which is independently established by Dan Koretzky and Dan Osborn. The label focuses mainly on indie rock, psychedelic rock, and alternative country.
